Jason is an Illinois native growing up in Sugar Grove. Jason has graduated from The Golf Academy of American Florida Campus in 2002, with an Associate degree in Golf Business Management. Jason was elected into the PGA of America in January of 2009.
While at school in Florida, he worked at the Boggy Creek Golf Course. From there, he worked at Butterfield Country Club in Oak Brook, Illinois. Jason traveled to Maui, Hawaii and was employed at the Kapalua Plantation Golf Course. Jason returned home, where he accepted the position with the City of Aurora, as the Assistant Golf Professional at both Phillips Park Golf Course and Fox Valley Golf Club in 2005.
Jason uses the latest in technology, the new high-speed digital camera that captures 300-1200 frames per second. This enables Jason to provide the student visually, the body mechanics that the student is performing and create individualized lesson specifically for the student golfer. This method, of visual and comparing “feel and real” aids in the adult learners. This immediate feedback, of showing all students what he/she is doing in slow motion will help all students progress fast through lessons. In addition to the camera, Jason uses a computer program called V1 Pro to help break down the swing even more, frame by frame, enabling Jason to draw lines and compare swings. The program has the capacity to compare students with touring professionals. With the program, Jason is then able to email student, their swings, the student golfer can show his family, friends and / or parents, their swing and the progression of the lessons provided. In addition to the camera and the V1 software, Jason uses the zelocity pure flight. This tells the student club head speed, ball speed, how far the ball flies, and how far the ball flies plus roll. Jason is able to print out a yardage card which tells the student how far each club carries. Enabling the student to properly choose the correct club on the golf course lowering scores.
Jason’s swing philosophy is keeping it simple. Grip/Aim/Setup. Fundamentals in golf rely heavily on these aspects. Furthermore, everybody’s swing is unique to his or her specific body type, flexibility, strength, and natural ability. That being said there is no one-way of teaching golf, so Jason adapts to every golfer he teaches. “Listening” to what the golfer is saying verbally and visually and providing positive feedback and knowledge in a way, which each individual golfer is able to understand, is Jason’s philosophy.
Jason teaches all types of students from children, 6 years old to 80+-year young, men and women. He provides instruction at various levels from the beginning golfer to Scratch and better players. Therefore, no matter how good or bad you play, Jason can help you improve your game.
